Message from our Principal! – June 10, 2020

Dear Lee Families,

Please join us in congratulating our fifth graders as they take the big step on to middle school. Although we did not have the opportunity to celebrate in the traditional manner, we want our students to know how proud we are of them. All our students have shown great perseverance in finishing the year strong and we will miss and cherish them all. We would also like to thank our parents and families for supporting students in distant learning, we can’t thank you enough! While we don’t yet know what the fall will look like, we will continue to do our best to provide the best possible education for each and every Lee student.

Our wonderful music teacher, Anna Robinson has asked that I share this music resource that can be accessed during the summer with many different resources for our students.

Music Playground

This site is a resource of music exploration materials for students and their families. Here, you can find links to activities, composing sites, or fun interactive games that help students practice fundamental musical skills.

In addition to the challenges our world faces with COVID-19, these last few weeks have also highlighted events across our country that are unsettling and may have resulted in trauma for some of our students and families. These events have caused our school and district to focus on gaining a greater understanding of the issues of racism and social injustice. As educators, it is not enough simply for us to help our students make sense of what is happening in the world. It is our responsibility to always work to create and maintain an environment that promotes, honors, celebrates, and protects the diversity of our staff and students. We will continue to take this responsibility seriously and do all we can to prevent systemic barriers from getting in the way of giving every child in our care the opportunity to grow, thrive and feel safe and valued in their world.

As you begin your summer vacation, please take some time to celebrate all the wonderful learning that has taken place this year. We look forward to the time when we can once again be together in person. Until then, stay safe and have a wonderful summer!

Thank you, Mrs. Adams

Gracias

Directora Susan Adams
